Yokohama Day Trip: Lunch, a Waterfront Walk and Dinner
Plan a Yokohama day around one lunch and one evening choice, with time to walk between them. This route uses restaurants already reviewed on the blog, so you can compare the food, photographs and practical details before deciding where to book.
Start in Minato Mirai
Arrive with enough time to orient yourself before lunch. Keep the first part of the day around Minato Mirai rather than trying to fit every major Yokohama attraction into one visit. Your restaurant choice should determine the most convenient arrival station; each review includes its location.
Choose one lunch
- Takayouji — Japanese set meals and bay views from a high floor. Read the review’s current planning notes before assuming that lunch reservations are available.
- The Mitsumoto — aged beef and specialty coffee in Yokohama Symphostage.
- Trattoria Tabule — a relaxed Italian lunch option.
- Ristorante UMIRIA — a more refined Italian lunch.
Walk the waterfront at your own pace
After lunch, choose a manageable walk toward the Red Brick Warehouse or Yamashita Park. Leave room for a coffee or a pause by the water. Chinatown can be another part of the outing, but it does not need to become a second full lunch after a restaurant meal.
If you prefer a museum or garden visit, choose one and check its current opening information before setting the route. Sankeien requires a separate transfer; do not squeeze it into the same afternoon simply to tick off another sight.

- SUBZERO — dinner at the pier with the waterfront as part of the occasion.

For a half-day outing, choose lunch and a waterfront walk. For a special evening, arrive later, enjoy a short walk and give dinner its full time. Booking one main meal is often more comfortable than committing the entire day to reservations.
