KEN’S DESTINATION COLLECTION

Nature Vibe

Garden tables, coastal views and unhurried breaks among wooded hills. Explore Kamakura & Enoshima, Izu and Hakone through the meals and outings I have shared. Nasu joins this collection as new stories become available.

Kamakura & Enoshima: Garden lunches and coastal views

Choose Ara Tama’s steak lunch for a Japanese garden setting in Kamakura. My Kamakura day itinerary adds coffee, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, a museum stop and dinner, with practical details for the route.

For a coastal option, Island Grill at Enoshima Island Spa combines seafood-focused dishes with a sea view. Kamakura and Enoshima are grouped here for regional planning, while each review keeps its own location and access details. Choose the outing that suits your day, or allow transfer time if you want to include both.

Izu: Cafés and animal-themed outings

At Izu Shaboten Zoo, GIBBONTEI makes lunch part of the animal outing. For coffee, cake and an indoor museum visit, Teddy’s Garden at the Izu Teddy Bear Museum is the rainy-day option from my visit. The two articles explain admission, access and what each stop offers.

Hakone: A hotel dinner and Lake Ashi café

My XIV Hakone Rikyu and Hanagoyomi review follows a hotel stay and Japanese dinner in Miyanoshita, from wooded room views to the lantern-lit approach and a tabletop hot pot. Confirm the dinner-only reservation or membership-based stay arrangements before planning the journey.

For a café-led outing in Moto-Hakone, read my Narukawa Art Museum and Tea Lounge Kisetsufu review. Allow transfer time if you also plan to visit Miyanoshita.

Nasu: New experiences coming soon

Nasu is being added to the destination collection. Restaurant visits, photographs and day-out ideas will be linked here as the new stories are published, with the meal and the surrounding experience considered together.

For now, explore the Dining Guide for ideas on building a day around lunch or dinner, including booking, language and dietary planning.

Build your day around the meal

Open a destination’s guide or a review to choose the meal, then check its access and reservation details. My Dining Guide brings together booking, language and dietary planning. Each destination is an outing to plan in its own right.
